The design of Rabbit Emojis draws inspiration from historical rabbit-related artifacts collected by museums worldwide, including paintings, sculptures, pottery, and more. These artifacts encompass artistic depictions of rabbits spanning over ten dynasties, from the Shang Dynasty to the Qing Dynasty in China, as well as 19th century artworks in Japan.
Through digital reconstruction, transformation, and creative reinterpretation, I designed these contemporary rabbit emojis in a modern style with the dual purpose of showcasing the artistic diversity of rabbit imagery from ancient China and Japan to today's audiences and celebrating the Year of the Rabbit in 2023.
